Great Class

I have enjoyed our Podcasting class, the instruction, and the insight from many of your posts. Thanks, and think spring!!!

Auto News

Since I work in the auto industry I like to stay up to date on the auto news. The website I like to visit the most is the Detroit News website (auto tab) because they cover the industy in depth. It is amazing to me that I can find out more information about my plant there than I can in my hometown newspaper.

Google Earth

Several weeks ago I got my first taste of using Camtasia software. I used it in conjunction with a PowerPoint presentation and I was pleased with the application. The PowerPoint presentation covered the techniques and benefits of using Google Earth in the classroom. The focus of the presentation was the Hoover Dam on the Nevada-Arizona border. If you haven't seen the Hoover Dam in person I hope you like the tour from Google Earth.

Peak-N-Peak Ski Resort NY

I mentioned earlier in the semester that my wife and I love to snow ski. She took this image of me taking a well deserved break and just enjoying the beauty of the slopes.

Fort Lauderdale

This camera shot is a perfect example of why I like web based learning. Last fall my wife and I took a quick 3 day get-away to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In between beach walks and swimming I was able to complete my college reading assignments at the beach. Later, from my hotel room I was able to send my assignments back to KSU via my laptop and the web. Life is good!!!

My First Post

I am a firm believer in continuing education especially with the rapid advances taking place in our society. When I graduated from high school (mid 70's) my graduating class contained about 700 students. When I think back on those days I don't have any recollection of computers, ipods, black-berries or robotic controllers. Things have sure changed and the only way I have been able to kept up with some of those changes is through continuing education. I am thankful I have had the opportunity to continue learning.
